β-crystalline Nucleating Agent for Polyolefins TMB-5 

TMB-5 is an economical and efficient β-crystalline nucleating agent for polypropylene which can 
induce β-crystallization to obtain β-crystalline polypropylene having high β-crystalline content to give 
the products good impact resistance ,heat distortion resistance and high porosity. TMB-5 is especially 
suitable for use in PP-R pipes, automobiles, household appliances and other modified products which 
demand high impact resistance and heat distortion resistance, and also use in the production of high 
porosity printable films such as PP man-made paper.

Applications & Features  
TMB-5 is an economical and efficient nucleating agent for polypropylene, and it has the advantages of 
improving the rate of crystallization, crystallinity and β-crystalline conversion,thereby gives the products 
excellent impact resistance ,heat distortion resistance and high porosity. The testing data show that adding 
0.3% TMB-5 to homopolymer and random copolymer polypropylene, the β-crystalline conversion is as 
high as 90%, impact strength and heat distortion temperature are dramatically raised, and the former is 
increased by 4-5 times, the latter is as high as about 127℃. It features a combination of enhancing clarity, 
stiffness, surface gloss, thermal distortion temperature and other physical and mechanical properties. 
Compared to other  β-crystalline nucleating agents, TMB-5 has the advantages of non-coloring, improving 
the deformability of products and excellent  β-crystalline stability. TMB-5 can be blended with PP powder 
directly, and also carry through secondary processing after being incorporated into masterbatch. The 
recommended level is 0.1-0.3% of PP base.  
 
Sanitation & Safety  
TMB-5 is odorless and non-toxic. Handle with due care and avoid dust formation and keep away from 
ignition sources. 
 
Storage & Package  
TMB-5 should be kept in a dry and well-ventilated place. It is packed in fiber drum or paper box with 
a lining of plastic sack.
